Group Therapy
Circle of Security Parenting Group
Rather than focusing on behavior and trying to figure out what to do with it, Circle of Security Parenting™ focuses on behaviors as a communication of a need, and the need within the relationship.
COSP™ is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened. It is reflective in nature in that parents will learn about elements of attachment AND also be asked to reflect on their own relationship with their caregivers.
This is an 8 week group that meets virtually.
Navigating 9th Grade
Moving to a new campus can be both exciting and intimidating. A new start often brings many questions:
- What if my friends aren’t in my classes?
- Who will I sit with at lunch?
- How will I manage all my school work?
This 8 week in-person group provides teens an opportunity to both share how they are feeling, as well as learn skills to support them in this new phase of life.
Boys’ group–starts Monday, July 22nd from 5:00-6:00 pm
Girls’ group–starts Wednesday, July 24th from 5:00-6:00 pm
Interested participants will need to complete a screening call prior to group participation. Group limited to 6 participants.
Navigating Middle School
The jump from fifth to sixth grade can be difficult for some children. Students go from having just two teachers to navigating a schedule with seven class periods. They also find themselves trying to figure out what from their childhood interests to take with them.
- “My friends are acting different.”
- “I feel like I have to hide my dolls when people come over.”
- “I can’t keep up with all my homework.”
- “Everyone has a cellphone.”
This 6 week in-person expressive arts group will support 6th grade girls and the unique challenges the transition from elementary to middle school brings. Topics to be addressed include:
- Friendships and peer dynamics
- Social pressure
- Academic expectations and responsibilities
- Sense of self
Interested participants will need to complete a screening call prior to group participation. Group limited to 6 participants.
